COL. JAMES WALKER FANNIN JR. BIRTHDAY, BORN IN GEORGIA, WAS A MILITARY LEADERIN THE TEXIAN ARMY DURING THE TEXAS REVOLUTION. OUTNUMBERED HE SURRENDERED TO MEXICAN FORCES AT THE BATTLE OF CELETO CREEK. COL FANNIN AND NEARLY ALL OF HIS 344 MEN WERE EXECUTED AT GOLIAD UNDER THE ORDERS OF SANTA ANNA.
